OA Academy welcomes Sussex Centre for Research on Kindness

We're thrilled to announce that the Sussex Centre for Research on Kindness at the University of Sussex has become the latest Institutional Member of the Octopus Associates Academy.

The Centre has an outstanding reputation for research, education and thought leadership on the nature of kindness and its impact on individuals and communities. By joining the OA Academy, its researchers, students and partner networks will be connected to a growing community dedicated to exchanging ideas, skills and creating new opportunities for learning and collaboration around for-purpose projects.

Professor Robin Banerjee, founder of the Sussex Centre for Research on Kindness and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Global and Civic Engagement at the University of Sussex, said:

Kindness thrives where different disciplines, sectors and communities come together, and that's exactly the kind of exchange the Academy is built to enable. This membership gives our researchers and partners new ways to connect their work with practitioners, policymakers and communities beyond Sussex, and to bring the evidence base on kindness into conversations that can genuinely shape a kinder, more connected society. It also provides an opportunity to share research on the barriers to and benefits of talking to strangers, alongside wider evidence on how everyday social connections can strengthen communities, enhance wellbeing and foster a greater sense of belonging."
